Business of the Month

The Greater Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce and the Business of the Month Committee are proud to announce our April Business of the Month….Alaska USA Federal Credit Union.

Alaska USA Federal Credit Union began serving Oak Harbor in the early 80's.  A merger with Whidbey Island Credit Union gave Alaska USA Federal Credit Union a community charter allowing anyone living or working in Whidbey Island to become a member.  Alaska USA now offers two convenient Oak Harbor locations, the Erie Street branch (located inside Albertson's) and the Midway Branch. 

Alaska USA is a not-for-profit, for-service, member owned financial service cooperative.  Credit union earnings are returned to member-owners by providing many free and low-cost services and offering valuable dividends.  Alaska USA offers personal financial services, mortgage lending, insurance and investment services.

As a long time member of the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Alaska USA has been a proud sponsor of the Holland Happening Street Fair and the Business Expo.  With the Oak Harbor Navy League, they assisted with the recognition of the NAS Sailor and Marine of the Year Event and participated in the Military Appreciation Picnic.  They are also involved with the American Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast, Island County Fair in Langley, Uniquely Whidbey Business Expo, Coupeville Arts and Crafts and the list goes on.

Their quality service and fine products are well represented thanks to the leadership of Lorna Deguzman the Erie St. Branch Manager for 6 years and Margie Sather who has been with the company for 17 years, 6 as the Midway Branch Manager.  But as with anything it takes a commitment from their respective staff to ensure top-notch customer service and ongoing community support.
